Welcome to Tartan Turf LLC – Community Driven Lawn Maintenance and Landscapes!

Hi there! We’re Dan and Julie, the husband-and-wife team behind Tartan Turf LLC. Based in Deltona, Florida, we’re proud to be a veteran-owned and family-operated business providing exceptional lawn care and landscaping services to the residents of Deltona, Lake Helen, DeBary, DeLand, Orange City, and Sanford, Florida.

We founded Tartan Turf LLC with a shared passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality services that our community can count on. Working together every day as a team is one of the things we love most about what we do—and we’re grateful to share this journey with our two amazing kids, who love to pitch in whenever school isn’t keeping them busy!

One day during the Covid Era we decided to start a lawncare company because the Central Florida Zoo (Dans Job) and University of Alabama (Julies Job) were cutting hours. We needed extra income for our family but how would we stand out in this flooded industry? Kilts, we should mow in KILTS! So, we started Tartan Turf LLC with our residential mower, a weed eater, a blower, a small trailer and wore kilts from when we competed in the Highland Games. Julie created our logo and printed us a truck wrap and away we went. Started out rough but each year we grew a little and added a little more to our equipment to add a more professional quality service. And now here we are today hosting Highland Games for the City of Deltona and providing top tier residential and commercial service to Deltona "the place we call home". Currently we have not spent any money on traditional advertising and have grown purely on word of mouth and Facebook group posts. This is one of the questions we get asked most often—and we’re always happy to answer! Both of us are proud of our Scottish heritage and are members of Clan Guthrie USA, a Scottish clan with a rich history. 

Dan has been competing in Highland Heavy Athletics for over 10 years as an A athlete and continues to participate in games like the Winter Springs Highland Games, Dunedin Highland Games, Ormond Beach Highland Games, and St. Augustine Highland Games—plus a few out-of-state competitions.

We also host and sponsor local Highland Games and Celtic Festivals! Like Deltona's first ever Celtic Festival and Highland Games in 2025!

But beyond tradition, wearing kilts is practical! In Florida’s heat, kilts are far more comfortable than pants. And of course, they help us stand out—because who wouldn’t remember the lawn care company in kilts?
