A Personal Beginning

For us, the Winter Springs Highland Games hold a special place in our hearts. This was Dan’s very first Highland Games over 10 years ago, where he competed in the athletic events, won First Overall, and became instantly hooked on the power, discipline, and tradition of Highland athletics. What started as a single competition turned into a lifelong passion — not just for the sport, but for the community that surrounds it.

Adding to the meaning, the Winter Springs Highland Games almost always fall on Dan’s birthday weekend, making the event feel like a yearly homecoming and celebration rolled into one.

The Winter Springs Highland Games proudly host professional Highland athletes, with both men’s and women’s divisions competing across two action-packed days. Events include classic heavy athletics such as:
